Mural Paintings Found In 100 Mile House British Columbia (2 - Pictures)

Above Photo: Parkside Art Gallery website is: http://www.parksideartgallery.ca/

The District of 100 Mile House has always been a special place for me. When I was a lot younger, I along with friends would drive to 100 Mile House to go fishing, hiking, etc.

On one of those trips I ended up at Montana Lake Resort which was owned by a fellow who resided in from Vancouver, B.C. and was owner of a mill.

Montana Lake is south of Bridge Lake, which is approximately 2 miles driving on the Machete Lake road. While I camping there, I was asked if I might like to look after the resort for three months. This was from June until the end of August. I said yes, as this was a dream job, even if it was only for the three months.

I will get more into that later as I have more Mural Paintings to post.

Log School House Now Unintended Winter Scene Houston British Columbia (Photo)

Information Source, The District of Houston, B.C.  - A link about schools and photos can be found by visiting the website at: http://houston.ca/siteengine/activepage.asp?PageID=28

The Log Schoolhouse

The first little log school was built as a community effort in Houston in 1916. Harry Davis, an early resident and school trustee of this area, donated several acres of land for a school, located approximately where the community hall is situated in 1998.

George Dungate and Andrew Martinson were among those who cut logs and dovetailed them by hand and put up the building.

The school housed a wood heater, teacher's desk, several rows of students’ desks, a large book cupboard, and a coat rack.

Reflection From The Sky In British Columbia (Picture)

The picture was taken when I was traveling home to Houston, B.C. from my Dad’s in Langley, British Columbia.

It was between Cache Creek and 100 Mile House.
