Royal B.C. Museum Vancouver Island Victoria British Columbia (Animal Exhibit – Photos)

On one of our trips to Vancouver Island, B.C., we stopped in Nanaimo and picked up my son and headed to Victoria.

It was a beautiful day and the drive to Victoria was a nice one at that. 

When we arrived in Victoria, we did some looking around, and then made a stop at the Royal B.C. Museum and it was awesome. 

The exhibits were wonderful and a lot of credit goes to the staff for putting it all together.

This here part of the trip was especially nice for my wife as she worked at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart, Australia.

Brian Vike The Discovery Channel And Vancouver British Columbia (Photos)

I was contacted by some folks from the Discovery Channel Canada to see if I might be be interested in taking part in an upcoming show for The Discovery Channel Canada. 

They were interested in one of my cases, and I did agree to being interviewed on camera in Vancouver, B.C.

Arrangements were made to fly me down to Vancouver from Smithers, B.C., and to put me up in the Sheraton Wall Centre, a hotel in downtown Vancouver.

I must say, The Sheraton Wall Centre hotel was a beautiful place to stay, I almost felt like I was someone of importance. –: 

During my stay, I took some photos from the balcony of the surrounding area.

Gastown Steam Clock Vancouver British Columbia (Photo/Video)

When I was in Vancouver, a friend and I looked around taking in the sights of the city. We stopped by the Gastown Steam Clock and I took some pictures and a video clip. Below are the picture and clip.

Information Source Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Raymond Saunders' first steam clock was built in 1977 to solve the issue of a steam vent in a popular sidewalk for the renovated Gastown district of Vancouver, 49°17′04″N 123°06′32″W. 

Although the clock is now owned by the City of Vancouver, funding for the project, over $C58,000, was provided by contributions from local merchants, property owners, and private donors. 

Incorporating a steam engine and electric motors, the clock displays the time on four faces and announces the quarter hours with a whistle chime that plays the Westminster Quarters. 

The clock is featured on the cover for the 2011 Nickelback album Here and Now.

Our Trip To Nanaimo Vancouver Island British Columbia On The BC Ferries (Photos)

It was time for a holiday, so my wife and I packed the Jeep and headed off to visit my son in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island here in British Columbia. 

To get to Nanaimo, you have to take the British Columbia Ferry from West Vancouver, leaving from Horseshoe Bay and you arrive at Departure Bay which is a bay in central Nanaimo.

I took a number of pictures from the Ferry and have them posted below.
